  • To attain and sustain household food self-sufficiency and to improve the nutritional status of the population
  • To expand and diversify agricultural production and exports
  • To increase farm incomes
  • To conserve the natural resources base
  • To formulate agricultural policies, legislation and regulations with stakeholder participation
  • To generate and disseminate agricultura information and technologies
  • To regulate and ensure quality control of agricultural produce and services
  • Monitor and manage the food security situation
