Hon. Kachikho holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Resources Development from Mobile University, Canada. She also has a certificate in secretarial studies from the Malawi Polytechnic.
Hon. Kachikho held various senior positions in the Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation (ADMARC). She was Deputy Mayor of the Blantyre City Assembly before becoming Member of Parliament.
She is a widow, and has three children. She is catholic.
