Speaking during the official opening ceremony of the country resort, Chakwera said Dr. Dzombe has acted in good faith towards Government as he is taking part in promoting the Agricultural, Tourism and Mining (ATM) strategy earmarked for the country's development.

“Dr Dzombe has chosen one of the three priority sectors as the target for this investment because he trusts what we say that developing the tourism sector is one of our top priorities”, Chakwera emphasized.

Chairperson for Mtalimanja Holdings, Dr Napoleon Dzombe said the resort is also a business ecosystem where communities are engaged in agricultural activities, such as fish farming among others.

In addition, Dr. Dzombe added that community members surrounding the facility will also benefit from employment opportunities.

Minister of Tourism Vera Kamtukule said the establishment of Kalipano Country Resort is an embodiment of the MW2063 national development vision of an inclusively wealthy and self-reliant nation.

The facility has 54 rooms, and offers a wide range of leisure facilities including activities on the magnificent Lake Dzombe, outdoor swimming pool, two event gardens and a planned restaurant.
